wow.... I have to say that was one of the most unique and interesting books I have read in a while!Audrianna is a doctor, in like the 1920's, in America. Her father dies, but on his death bed he makes her promise to continue his work... his research into a disease he believes killed her mother, Lyovitalis.
This takes her on a journey to Zurich, where things are not always what they seem (to say the least!). On the train she meets a young man who needs a doctor.... and that is all I can say without giving out spoilers :)
This book has history, fantasy/science fiction, romance (hot sex scenes!), and (big time) edge of your seat mystery. I was literally reading as fast as I could eager to know what was happening.
I would recommend this book to anyone ... the mixture of history and fantasy and the mystery that grabs you in the beginning and doesn't let go, all made for a really fun book! I will definitely look for more by this author!

Omg I love love love this book
And the ones that followed. I have not enjoyed a series so much ) the characters and the passion and the details. You can play the stories out in your head )
Good book, odd title. That about sums up my thoughts and opinions on this story. It starts off so sad, which is a bit of a downer when you first crack open a new book, but it's an important part of the rest of the story that Ms. Chandler created. It's pretty much the basis for everything Audrianna does from there on. Decently written and not overlong long, this was an entertaining read that I think many people will enjoy.
"Children" was surreal! Utterly fantastic. Then comes "Lyovitalis"! Most prequels or sequels of a great book lose steam halfway through. Unable to keep up with their own greatness. Not this book. Lyovitalis is like a locomotive crashing forth and coming off the rails.(& I mean that in a good way). Ready to always give you another great explosion!
All i can say is please give me another great book in this series to become lost in. The world of Audrianna, Lorna, & Kendi cannot end here!
First things first, I will say that I am not the most avid reader so when I came across Lyovitalis, I truly enjoyed the articulate style presented throughout the story. From the start I was able to engage myself into the plot. Later, I would become extremely intrigued by the excellent use of parallel dimensions and soul thieves as the story begins to unfold. The ending left me enticed and eager to find out the outcome Audrianna's story. And although she's the focus of the story the many other characters and their development bring color to an awesome story.
Lyovitalis took me on a journey deep into an eerie place where I was constantly wondering who among the characters could be trusted. It was adventuresome, erotic, and nail bitingly suspenseful at times. The complicated plot wove together pieces of history, fantasy, sexuality, and the practice of medicine. Each page brought with it many questions about a very rich framework of characters that kept the reader deeply engaged and eager to find answers. While the end delivered a measure of closure, one is left with a distinct sense that the drama has yet to be resolved. An immensely enjoyable read!
This is such a great book. It's emotionally compelling, gripping, suspenseful and the story is told so wonderfully by the author. The first chapter opens with a tear-jerker when Audrianna's father passes away leaving her with one final dieing wish to solve the mystery that is "Lyovitalis." Lyovitalis is a fatal disease that has struck down her mother as well as many other women.
She accepts her father's mission and sets out to Switzerland where she continues where her father left off, as he had been in the process of attempting to unravel the deadly secrets of the disease himself. What starts as an already very difficult task soon escalates into something much more as Audrianna starts to uncover things that others meant to keep buried at any cost.
This was a great book and a great lead in for the next book. Although I haven't started the next one yet I fully intend to and look forward to seeing what the author has done next.
